Experience

“The trouble with learning from experience is that you never graduate.”

                                                                 -- Doug Larson

I have taught children of different age groups through workshops, internship programs and live sessions. I have and am still learning a lot from children. They have moulded my subject knowledge and the way I teach it. I am thankful to Aiwagam Academy and Prabal for all the opportunities along the way.

Aiwagam Academy - Internship

During my internship at Aiwagam Academy, I was given the opportunity to teach students from Mount Zion college, who came for a drone fabrication workshop. This was my first ever teaching experience. Drone flight physics, basics of drone electronics and drone design calculations were the topics covered.

College

During my college final year, I conducted evening classes for my juniors. Classes mostly involved classical physics. Occasionally, concepts from aeronautics and chemistry were discussed too.

Rover Workshop

During my college final year, I was granted an opportunity by Aiwagam Academy to be a part of their Mars Rover Workshop. The workshop was conducted at National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Banglore. I gave a lecture on the topic "Mars Rover - An Introduction". I was also given the opportunity to lead two teams.

Drone Building Workshop

We collaborated with Yantra Loop to conduct a three day Drone Building and Flying Workshop at an apartment in Bangalore. I, along with my colleague taught school children the basics of drones and the physics behind how they fly. By the end of the workshop, the children built an FPV drone.

Drone Internship

We trained three students from N.M.A.M Institute of Karnataka, under a one-month drone design and building workshop. In-depth concepts like drone flight physics, design parameters and calculations were taught.

Glider Workshop - Area 83

We conducted a one day Chuck Glider workshop at Area 83, Bangalore. We trained around 90 school students of 9th, 10th and 11th grade. The workshop was conducted as a part of their summer camp.  Children were taught the basics of glider fabrication.

Fixed Wing Fabrication Workshop

We conducted a 5-day Drone and Fixed Wing Fabrication workshop for 23 students from Mount Zion College, Kerala. The workshop involved basic aerodynamics and fabrication of quadcopter and fixed-wing. I taught the students the fundamentals of aerodynamics through experiments and simple demonstrations.

Glider Workshop

We conducted a one-day Glider Building workshop at Robo-G, Bangalore. Children between 7-12 years of age took part in the workshop. The physics of gliders and their fabrication were taught during the workshop.

Online Sessions - Prabal

At Prabal, I facilitate online live hands-on classes. These online classes are conducted for children between 8-15 years of age. Children attend the classes with experiential learning kits that are delivered to their homes. Magnetism, circuits, green energy, glider and Newton's car are a few kits I have taught children in these live sessions.

Emerald International School,
Bangalore

We visited Emerald International School in Bangalore on the 19th of November 2019. We showcased our models and explained parents about experiential learning. Parents and students showed great interest. We also demonstrated our fixed-wing model, drone and hovercraft.

DIDAC 2019

We had our stall at the DIDAC 2019, held in Bangalore. Educationists from various colleges came to visit our stall. It was very motivating to see them showing a lot of interest in experiential learning and our view of taking it to schools.

DRONES IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT

I took part in a conference conducted by India Flying Labs in Orissa. I was given the opportunity to present on the topic "Using Drones to Map Shoreline Erosion".
